We couldn’t be more excited to share this incredible moment with the people we hold dearest. On December 16th, 2025, we’ll exchange our vows among the breathtaking vineyards of South Africa—a place that has become so special to us.
Our wedding date holds deep significance. December 16th is a public holiday in South Africa, known as The Day of the Vow and now The Day of Reconciliation—a symbol of unity, healing, and new beginnings. For Lydia’s family, this day carries even greater meaning. Every year, her father stood in front of hundreds of South Africans to deliver a speech on this day, honoring its history and the strength of the people.
In December 2020, Ollie had the privilege of meeting Lydia’s dad for the first time. In that short but unforgettable time, he welcomed Ollie with warmth, kindness, and his full blessing. Just four months later, he sadly passed away. Though he won’t be with us in person, we know he will be with us in spirit on this special day, his voice echoing in our hearts as we step into our next chapter.
Over the past five years together in Dubai, South Africa has been our escape, our adventure, and our home away from home. It’s where we’ve fallen even more in love—whether sipping wine under golden sunsets, exploring its wild beauty, braai-ing with family or experiencing the warmth of incredible people. More than just a wedding, we want this to be a journey for all of you, especially those who’ve never had the chance to explore this stunning country. It means the world to us to share the magic of South Africa with you. And while we wish Nutella, our fur baby, could be here with us, he’s back in Dubai, holding down the fort!
Here, you’ll find all the details about our wedding, travel tips, and ways to make the most of your time here. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
With love,
Soon to be Impeys :)
